More than 2,000 people gathered to remember the shooting tragedy of Jan. 8, 2011 and form a human symbol called Embrace. Six people were killed and thirteen others were wounded that day as Congresswoman Giffords was holding a Congress on Your Corner for her constituents. The human Embrace represents how our community came together following the shooting and embraced all of us who were there that horrific day. We will be eternally grateful for the compassion, good will, prayers and support we received then and continues now. Thanks to everyone who came out today and thanks to KVOA News Director Cathie Batbie-Loucks, whose idea it was to bring us together and who was instrumental in making the idea a reality.
